New Blog!!!

Hi guys :)

I've decided to start a new blog! It's just two difficult keeping up with two and now that the babies are here with us, there's no need for them to have one to themselves lol. I thought it would be nice to start a new one for our new lives as a family of 4.

Thank you to all of you for your support and lovely emails throughout my pregnancy and for the births of my girls.... it's fun to go back and read about the journey, although I must say, I am very glad they are here to cuddle and not still inside of me!!! A twin pregnancy was hard work :)

Our new blog is here .... I look forward to sharing pics, stories and more of my three angels.

6 months Today...

Wow. I cannot believe that the girls are 6 months today ~ in some ways it seems like yesterday since they were born but in others, it seems like they've been here forever.

Over the past couple of months, things seem to have started to settle a little more. We're still battling with getting both babies into a routine (at the same time!) but at least now, when they are awake, they are happier and play rather than just scream to be held!!

Immy has developed SO much. She's such an easy going baby and so gorgeous. She has been rolling for a couple of months now and loves doing raspberries (very loudly!!!). She's so clever ~ very responsive to certain people and if I ask her "where are the trees" on our walks, she immediately looks up and smiles at them, then looks back to me. She's also very close to crawling ~ she rolls to her belly and goes backwards and has starting to move forward the past few days. She's still verrrry chubby and I love every little roll.

Madi is my little pocket rocket!!! She has been crawling around the house backwards since she was 4 months old and now, is trying to move forwards too. She went from not rolling at all, to rolling continuously in one day lol. She's such a cheeky monkey ~ much happier in my arms than on the floor playing and she lets you know it too. She'll scream at the top of her voice but as soon as you approach her, she stops, smiles and often opens her mouth for her dummy. She looooves her dummy.....

I still can't believe that I'm a mum to three girls ~ I'm not sure that I ever will lol. To this day, I look at Kara and feel so lucky and amazed that she's my daughter.... to have three daughters is just bizarre!!!

4 months old...

....and things are finally starting to settle down!!! Today, for the first day in a loooong time, the babies slept at the same time in the morning, afternoon and this evening (the night is young yet!). Madi and Immy are 4 months old now (and 10 days :P) and they are both just gorgeous. We've had some (very) difficult times with no sleep and screaming due to reflux and colic but over the past week or so, they've settled a lot during the day. Nights still aren't great ...

Kara has been amazing with her sisters. For a little girl who has had her mum to herself for 8 years, she is coping so much better than I ever thought she would. She loves them deeply and has more patience for them than me at times lol. I really cannot express how lucky I am to have her (and the babies of course).

Some pics of my growing babes.....

PS Madi has become mobile!! She lies on her back and kicks her leg like a frog to move around backwards. Four months and mobile... not what I was expecting from a twin!!

Time Flies....

....even when you're not having fun!!

As much as I love my babies, the past month has been beyond challenging. Immy is getting MUCH easier ~ she is smiling soooo much and happy to be playing under her playgym for extended periods now but Madi.... not so good lol. She's quite unsettled and I'm hoping it passes soon because it means a lot of tears ~ from her and me!
Hopefully I'll have time to write a proper post soon but for now, a few recent pics xx

Tough Couple of Weeks

Well, the first 6 weeks of the girls' lives lulled me into a false sense of security lol. The following two weeks were a little more challenging.

Both Madi and Immy are doing really well ~ Madi is now 9 lb 4oz and Immy is 11 lb 7oz lol... she's a little chubba! They both struggle with wind/colic which is making things interesting and Immy has reflux but it's under control now thanks to meds.
The hardest thing for me is feeling that I can't give either baby (or Kara) the time that they need :(. It's just so full on and if both babies are screaming, I often have to let one go whilst I settle the other. I really hate that ~ Kara was never left to cry so it's something I'm just not used to. They are also out of sync with their sleeping, meaning I have been up hourly most nights. I think once they settle more at night, things will be more manageable again (I hope :P).

I have to say that I am very very lucky to have the friends I have. They have been invaluable and I have received so much support. Even with that support things are difficult but without it, it would be close to impossible for me to cope I think. It's taking some adjusting on my part to be able to ask others to help care for my girls! Not something I like to do.....
Anyway, I'm typing as fast as I can because Immy is stiring lol and I want to add some pics ~ they have changed so much!

Sooo Behind!!

This isn't a proper post!! I will try to get back on tonight with updated pics etc of the babies but this is more for readers of my other blog (vanessaandkara).

I have made that blog open to invited readers only, as there is a person whom feels the need to read about our lives and send me unsavoury emails. Making it closed will enable it to continue without me having to deal with them.

Please email me at fredbare@live.com.au if you would like to be on the reader's list :)

One Month Already!!!

It's hardly surprising that I've been very very slack with my blog lol. I've been meaning to post some pics but time gets away from me. Whenever the babies are sleeping at the same time, I have so much else to do ~ including trying my hardest to spend time with my princess.
All in all, things are going really well. There have been a lot of {very} sleepless nights ~ mainly due to Imogen ~ but the days are great. They are just so gorgeous and I've only really had one meltdown so far!!

Some of my friends have been priceless. I hope they know just how much I appreciate all that they have done or offered to do. Just knowing I can call on them if need be makes things so less scary. All three of my girls are so lucky to be surrounded by people who love them.

As far as the babies go, they are growing like weeds!!! Madi, who was born 5lb 9oz, is now 7lb 12oz... she has grown more than a pound in two weeks. As for Immy, she's a little piggy LOL. She was born 5 lb 15oz and she is now 8lb 13oz... she has put on a kilogram in under 2 weeks. I am so relieved they are both going so well :)

Immy is stirring as I type, so I'll add some pics and aim to post again within the month!
